We’re Committed to Keeping You Healthy and Safe
After more than a year since the COVID-19 outbreak was declared a global health emergency, it is now more important than ever to ensure the well-being of our associates, clients and consumers while delivering on our promise to bring break time to everyone. With a commitment to safety and simple operational changes to our core service offerings, we are safely keeping our communities nourished and fueled.
How We Are Working Smarter for You
While safety and sanitation were certainly important factors for consumers before, they likely now top the list. We have been operating safely for essential business clients during this time, and we are leading the industry in implementing safety standards:
Maintaining strict cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting protocols
Ensuring CDC guidelines for handwashing and hygiene etiquette
Reinforcing Food Safety Management System/HACCP standards for food preparation and service
Disinfecting high-touch equipment and contact surfaces at the conclusion of each service
Providing PPE including masks and gloves for associates to protect themselves and our clients
Deploying contactless equipment innovation across all lines of business
Emphasizing touchless payment options, such as mobile payment and our Connect & Pay® app
In early 2021, the FDA released a statement that it, along with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the CDC, continues to underscore that there is no credible evidence of food or food packaging associated with or as a likely source of viral transmission of the virus causing COVID-19. Given this statement and our continued cleaning protocols, our confidence in the safety of our service and food supply remains unwavering. Consumers should be reassured that the foods they eat and the packaging they touch are highly unlikely to spread COVID-19.
In conjunction with our parent company, Compass Group, we recently launched COVID-19 associate training, designed to inform Canteen associates about how to best protect themselves, their coworkers and our customers through proper cleaning and disinfection practices, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and by following best practices for safety in the workspace. Developed in consultation with the Cleveland Clinic, this unique education establishes minimum expectations for the entire organization to ensure the safety and well-being of our associates, clients, and consumers while continuing to deliver world-class care and service. Compass Group is further taking action with partnership and third-party certification of our safety training through Mérieux NutriSciences, a world leader in public health and food safety.
