Meet Me: Brooke Hall

Say hello to Brooke Hall. She’s a Field Marketing Specialist for Canteen in the Mid-South Division, and has a strong appreciation for good food puns. Now, lettuce learn more about Brooke and why she loves being a part of the Canteen family.

I received the advice, “be forward thinking,” just over a year ago as I prepared for my new role with Canteen as Senior Field Marketing Specialist for the Mid-South’s dining units.  As a creative person I was well aware of the concept, but after sixteen months, I can honestly say that statement painted the perfect picture of what I get to be a part of every day.

My journey began with Chartwells Higher Ed seven years ago when I joined the team at Shippensburg University as their Marketing Director.  While at Shippensburg, I learned the ins-and-outs of operations as the Assistant Director of Retail. In that role, I had oversight of both national and internal brands.  It was through training programs like Project Readiness and Developing Dynamic Leadership, and the hands-on experience of day-to-day operations coupled with the great leadership support that built the foundation for the next step in my career with Canteen.

My experience in both marketing and operations provided me with a unique outlook on how I could contribute to the success of the newly created Field Marketing Specialist position with Canteen.  My role supports the refresh process at our dining units, helps establish marketing and merchandising standards in new business and assists with strategy and implementation to drive sales in our cafes. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is the one-on-one time I spend with our managers and associates.  As a team, we are able to take newly developed standards and establish our own best practices to share across the field.  I find joy in the cooperative effort to develop the vision, and then successfully implement that vision.

I am constantly amazed at the talented team we have and how they exemplify what it means to be forward-thinking.  I’m also excited for the bright future that exists for Canteen and the rewarding journey I get to take with this extraordinary group of people.”
